Domain Purchasing

Generally speaking you only need to purcahse the Domain, it is not necessary to add-on any of the add-ons the registrar provides you during checkout, including “Domain Security” and email/hosting or website builder packages (unless you’ve specifically used that company for their platform).

The domain should cost between £15-20 per year (.co.uk or .com – other obscure extensions can cost £30+), I would advise purchasing email separately or adding it on later if need be.  Once you’re tied into and start using an Email package – only to find you have issues with it) makes it quite difficult to change later.
